what I'm up to

I'm a freshman at Cal, intending to major in Political Economy. Last semester I studied math and Chinese, and completed my writing requirement. This semester I'm finishing my first year of Mandarin, learning statistics, and studying world history.

previously

Over the summer, I started a recipe database application to protect my family's culinary legacy. I was using the project to teach myself Ruby on Rails. You can see the progress I made on the GitHub repository for the project.

I spend the second half of my summer break working for AtOnce Software. I designed their branding identity and web presence.

February through May 2010, I lived in Kunming, China, studying Mandarin. I was supported by Where There Be Dragons through their Expeditionary Internship program. My adventure is recorded on our Yak board, a Where There Be Dragons blog.

I was a web designer at The Meridian Group, working primarily on redesigning their GoKunming website. I also built websites for clients, and photographed sites for local listings.
